SDN48 member Sakura Fukuyama (22) announced on her blog today that due to health problems, she is leaving the group and putting her show business career on hold.
Fukuyama, who hails from Niigata, debuted as a second-generation member of SDN48 this past March. She has been suffering from a chronic illness for some time, though details about the illness have not been made public. Her condition has recently worsened, so she has decided to finally take a break.
The timing of the decision is unfortunate for Fukuyama, as she was selected earlier this month as one of the 12 members who will perform on SDN48′s major label debut single, which is being released on November 24. Her graduation from the group has not yet been scheduled.
