Hiro Mizushima, one of Japan’s so-called popular ‘‘ikemen’’ (good-looking) actors, is leaving his acting career to concentrate on writing novels and other materials, according to his agency KEN-ON.
Mizushima, 26, started his career as a fashion model when he was still in college. He played in many television dramas, including ‘‘Hanazakari no Kimitachi e Ikemen Paradise’’ since becoming popular from his leading role in the television series ‘‘Masked Rider Kabuto’’ in 2006-2007. In February 2009, Mizushima married popular romantic singer and songwriter Ayaka, 22, who suspended her career due to illness.
