Idol group Morning Musume will receive an award in recognition for their contribution to the development of 3D contents in Japan. They will be given the International 3D Fair Award at the upcoming Digital Content Expo 2010, being held on October 14-17 in Tokyo.
In March, Morning Musume participated in a major fashion show, which was televised live in 3D to three different areas across the country. That was the first such broadcast for Japan. The group later became the “3D ambassadors” for BS-TBS.
Members Ai Takahashi, Risa Niigaki, Eri Kamei, and Sayumi Michishige will attend the award ceremony, scheduled for October 15. Besides Morning Musume, the other recipients of the award are Sony and SKY Perfect JSAT.
