On Thursday, Japan witnessed the birth of its biggest “ikemen actor” group. Dubbed the NAKED BOYZ, the 44-member unit is being described as the male version of AKB48, though they still have yet to prove their popularity.
The members were revealed at Thursday’s debut event, and talento Ai Haruna (38) showed up to cheer them on.
The 44 members, ranging in age from 16 to 30, were chosen through an audition. They will base their activities at Shinjuku FACE, where they plan to put on several performances every year. Their first major performance there will be held on November 5.
