From August 1st, AKB48′s sister-unit SDN48 are starring in the AKB48 stage play in Akihabara, Tokyo and their CD debut has now been decided. On August 1st they held a commemoration event for their debut and together with former AKB48 member Noro Kayo all 37 members stood on stage. “There is an announcement from SDN48 for everyone”, she started out with and also formerly member of AKB48 Sato and Urano added: “Through UNIVERSAL MUSIC we will be making our Major Debut!”. The venue broke out in a storm of cheers and applause for long moments. “Please all lend us your strength for this”, the members asked and then presented “Kodoku na Runner” thereafter.
SDN48 had been formed with the concept of being “a little more grown up” and came to be an idol group with an average age of 23 years. As “SDN” stands for “Saturday Night” this is also the generally limited time for their performances on stage. In the case on their debut single, out of the 37 ladies, 12 have been chosen by the fans to participate in the activities for the record.
