Japan Post began offering collectable stamp sets bearing the faces of AKB48 members on November 8th. On the release day AKB48 fans overwhelmed and crashed the Japan Post website.
Japan Post released the statement to remind fans, “You don’t need to use the website to order the stamps. You can also order the stamps at your local post office until January 9th 2012.” The postal website appears to be up and going now to take your orders through the 9th of January and the stamp sets will ship February 1st. The stamp sheets are available in 3 types featuring the pictures of Team A, Team K, and Team B respectively. Each set is 2 sheets of ¥50×10 stamps and in addition to the stamps, sheet one will feature a large image of the entire team while sheet two will have a group of live performance images of the team.
These collectable sets will also come with a set of 16 postcards with the team member, a letter set, and a few other extras – all for ¥5,700.
