Appleseed XIII is the new adaptation of Masamune Shirow‘s Appleseed (1985) future paramilitary manga.
The first movie and 3 OVA (direct-to-video) episodes were released this past July and in total Appleseed XIII will be composed of 13 22-minute OVA anime episodes on DVD/Blu-ray, plus two feature-length compilation films of the episodes.
Appleseed XIII~Yogen~, the second of two "theatrical remixes" of the anime project will be in theaters October 24th and Bandai began streaming the first trailer for it on its YouTube channel. Check it out below
Previous Appleseed adaptions are Kazuyoshi Katayama‘s OVA (1988) and Shinji Aramaki‘s two computer-animated movies (2004,2007).
