The website for the live-action film adaptation of CAPCOM‘s “Ace Attorney” (Gyakuten Saiban) videogame announced that the rock band Porno Graffitti will provide the film’s theme song. Porno Graffitti has been producing singles since 1999 and provided theme songs for numerous projects such as Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach. They can be seen December 1st performing at the “Act Against AIDS” concert held at Nippon Budokan.
Ace Attorney film will open February 11th 2012 and cast includes (pictured above) Hiroki Narimiya as Phoenix Wright (Ryuichi Naruhodo), Takumi Saitō as prosecutor Miles Edgeworth (Reiji Mitsurugi), and Mirei Kiritani as Maya Fey (Mayoi Ayasato).
The film adaption is set in a parallel Japan, where a large increase in harsh crimes has led to a new court system. Under this new system, the defense attorney and public prosecutor battle for three days in open court to determine guilt or innocence of the accused, placing priority on speed instead of thorough investigation.
