Shooting for the live-action “Rurouni Kenshin” wrapped up on November 21st and the studio has released a few photos from production sets in Kyoto taken back on August 27th. Actor Takeru Sato as Himura Kenshin looks quite convincing – check out more photos that follow,
Producers of the new “Rurouni Kenshin” film are planning for an international release and August 25th 2012 is the release date.
The original manga and subsequent anime adaption follows the story of Himura Kenshin. Kenshin is on a personal journey as a wanderer to atone for past sins when he was known and feared as the assassin “Hitokiri Battousai.” He carries a reverse blade katana that can only be used as a defensive weapon and has pledged to do “no more killing.”
“Rurouni Kenshin” is one of Japan’s famous manga, it ran from 1994 ~ 1999 and it 28 volumes have sold over 50 million copies.
