Uehara Takako of popular 4-piece unit SPEED had always been active as an actress as well, and she will now be starring in her first movie.
The title of the production will be “Koitanibashi – La Vallee de l’amour”, which is set in Tottori prefecture at the Misasa hot springs. The story centers around the young heroine, which has become the victim of her Tokyo design agency downsizing their personnel and came to work hard as an “Okami” at the traditional Japanese Ryokan owned by her family in order to rebuild it fully.
(Note: “Okami” are the “clerks” in hotels and restaurants.)
The shooting has been done within three weeks in Tottori, and in 899 meters above sea level, Uehara climbed the steep paths of Mitokusan without so much as a safety rope.
“With respect to the movie, I wanted to express the feelings earnestly. Having climbed this really steep mountain road, is what I felt with my own feet”, Uehara commented.
For her it was also the first appearance in a Kimono since her debut and everyone should be looking forward to how she is challenging her role in this production.
The movie is scheduled for release in summer 2011.
