Popular female singer-songwriter, YUI – gave a free live street performance in downtown Shanghai, China. Normally security is such in China that a Japanese singer performing on the street is rare but it is “Shanghai Japan Week“. There was little notice beforehand of YUI’s street performance so only small crowds filter past as YUI played four songs.
Immediately after, YUI then performed at a special stage of Hisamitsu Department Store in Jing’an Temple, with 1,500 fans who gathered to watch her perform.
Tomorrow on the 25th, YUI will perform again, this time at the Shanghai International Studies University. “Shanghai Japan Week” includes other performers such as AKB48 all to introduce Japan’s music and culture.
