Brand-new Idol Society (BiS) has announced their first album “IDOL IS DEAD” which takes it name from the group’s general theme and 2011 Liquid Room live event. The album is offered in three editions and will drop into stores on October 24th. BiS released their 6th single and 1st under their new major label avex trax “PPCC” on July 18th – more details are available in an earlier report.
This group of 5 idols tries its best to be anti-idol which can be better understood by watching one of their music videos. The new anime Backstage idol Story featuring BiS was just announced on their website and via twitter. The anime will be computer-generated (CG) and features animated versions of the BiS idols voiced by the actual group members. Each episode runs 15-minutes and will be split into 2 segments, one featuring backstage conversations between the girls and the other an ad-lib interview with a special guest.
Animation is being handled by 3DCG Studio Kichijoji Tron which is part of Studio Gainax. The anime airs on the Space Shower TV channel starting October 10th and scheduled to run 8 episodes.
Album “IDOL IS DEAD” comes in three editions (track lists are incomplete and tentative),
– Limited Pressing with two bonus DVDs, one featuring an 80min movie “IDOL IS DEAD” and the second one featuring various live and off-shoot footage.
– Limited with bonus DVD that includes all of the group’s music videos and one new – approximately 60min.
– Regular CD-only.
All 3 editions have a First Press version that add bonus trading card 1 of 6.
