The final Hellsing anime OVA Hellsing X is getting prepared for release on November 28th. The OVA series started in 2006 and has been animated by studios Satelight, Madhouse, and for the final 3 releases by Graphinica / Kelmadick. Hellsing original manga by Hirano Kouta that began its run in 1997 and ended in 2009 and had a TV anime adaption by Gonzo in 2001 which covered 13 episodes. The high quality OVA adaption for Hellsing (Hellsing Ultimate outside of Japan) began in 2006 with episodes releasing about 6 months apart. Studio Satelight in-charge of the first 4 releases, Studio Madhouse produced episodes 5-7, and now studios Graphinica x Kelmadick have produced the final 3.
The English dubbed and subtitled versions are licensed and created by Funimation – officially through the 8th OVA. Funimation is re-releasing on DVD and Blu-ray episodes 1-4 on October 30th 2012 and 5-8 on November 13th 2012.
Hellsing X comes on four editions, the region free Blu-ray unfortunately doesn’t include English subtitles.
