Maaya Sakamoto new single has been announced, “More Than Words” featured as the theme song for anime OVA movies “Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito” (Akito the Exiled). Besides providing the theme song Maaya will also voice one of the lead characters, Layla Malkal. The single will be offered in two editions and is set for release on July 25th. “Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito” (Akito the Exiled) is a spin-off from the Code Geass story. Its been reported that there will be 4 50-min releases in theaters and as OVA (DVD/BD) starting August 4th and the others following about 3 months apart.
Collaborating on the new single is the legendary Yoko Kanno and lyricist Iwasato Yuho. This is a reunion of sorts as they all collaborated on Maaya Sakamoto’s debut single in 1996, "Yakusoku wa Iranai" featured as opening theme for anime “The Vision of Escaflowne”.
