Maaya Sakamoto’s new single, “More Than Words” has been updated with jacket covers and First Press bonus. Also exposed is a teaser length music video for the song that is featured as the theme song for theatrical anime series “Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito” (Akito the Exiled). Sakamoto will also voice one of the lead characters, Layla Malkal. Her new single is offered in two editions and is set for release on July 25th. “Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito” (Akito the Exiled) is a spin-off from the Code Geass story which takes place around the same time as Lelouch takes on Holy Britannia Empire in Japan. The setting is Europe where they are being invaded by the overwhelming forces of the Empire. Layla Malkal who is a former Britannia aristocrat comes to their aid, with a corps of Wyveryn Knightmares piloted by Japanese teenagers.
Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito is planned for four 50-min theatrical releases starting August 4th and the others following about 3 months apart.
Collaborating on the new single is the legendary Yoko Kanno and lyricist Iwasato Yuho. This is a reunion as they collaborated on Maaya Sakamoto’s debut single in 1996, "Yakusoku wa Iranai" featured as opening theme for anime “The Vision of Escaflowne”.
Single “More Than Words” comes in two editions with title song, coupling song and one secret track:
