BUMP OF CHICKEN and their new single “GOOD LUCK” topped the singles charts with more than 135,000 sold. The single is featured as the theme song to film “Always Sanchome no Yuhi ‘64”.
As predicated in our Chart Preview it was very close for the 2nd and 3rd spots but IDOLING!!!’s new single, “MAMORE!!!” with 56,232 sold just edged out Acid Black Cherry’s 5th consecutive release single “YES” with 54,434. Fourth spot went to easy listening pop group Ikimonogakari and their 22nd single “Itsudatte Bokura wa”.

The album charts are topped by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and their best hits album “BEST HIT AKG” with 88,548 sold. The second spot goes to Tokyo Jihen and their final new song album “color bars” also with a strong week with 78,318 sold. Previously reported here that Tokyo Jihen will be dissolving as a group on leap day February 29th 2012.
Landing in the 3rd spot on the charts after 3 weeks at number is EXILE with member ATSUSHI’s solo debut “EXILE JAPAN/Solo”.
The K-ON! anime and music franchise continues to be strong with the “K-ON! Movie” soundtrack busting in at #4 with 28.902 sold.
