Singles week chart preview 2012 January 2nd – 8th
A very quiet week for new releases after New Years and based on the Oricon daily numbers for singles the #1 spot will go to Johnny’s Entertainment group NYC (featuring member Yuma Nakayama) and their single “Wonderful Cupid/NYC Glass no Maho” with about 39,000 sold. This single was set for release on January 4th but came out the week before and charted 4th, don’t know why it got the earlier release.
Second spot should go to idol group YGA and their newest single “Rising Sun Japan!” with approximately 16,000 sold. Third spot looks to go to last weeks #2, AKB48 unit No Sleeves (nob3) and their single “Pedicure Day.”

Album week chart preview 2012 January 2nd – 8th
On the album side again there were limited new releases and last week’s #1 – EXILE and their double release “EXILE JAPAN/Solo” that features a solo release album from member ATSUSHI remained solidly in the top spot with over 149,000 sold.
One new release the self-titled new album from rock band Golden Bomber does take the #2 spot with approximately 64,000 sold.
Korean girls remain hot and KARA’s album “Super Girl” that has been top 6 on the charts now for 6 weeks should take the #3 spot just ahead of Girls Generation in the #4 spot and their re-newed hot compilation release from back on June 1st, “Shoujo Jidai.”
