AKB48 has updated the jacket covers and revealed a preview music video for their 33rd single “Heart Electric” (ハート・エレキ). The title song and music video bring back the “Group Sounds” (G.S.) music style that was inspired by The Beatles and popular in Japan during the 1960s. AKB48 recently held their 4th rock-paper-scissors tournament (Janken-taikai) to select the center and 16 members for their 34th single (untitled). Held September 18th 2013 at Nippon Budokan, Matsui Jurina (AKB48 & SKE48) threw paper 7 times to be crowned the winner and center position for the 34th single due out December 11th 2013 (more details coming).
Most recently AKB48 release 32nd single “Koisuru Fortune Cookie” tied to their General Election on August 21st 2013 (more details). The single featured the election winner Sashihara Rino for her first time as center of an AKB48 single. The single was also the final participation for graduating senbatsu and founding team A members Itano Tomomi and Shinoda Mariko plus founding team K member Akimoto Sayaka.
New single “Heart Electric” features the management selected 16 senbatsu members with longtime member Kojima Haruna getting her first chance as the center position. The selected senbatsu includes members from each of the AKB member groups: AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, and HKT48 (JKT48 and SNH48 not represented).

AKB48’s 33rd single “Heart Electric” (Heart Ereki) comes on 4 team editions with different CD/DVD contents. The under girls coupling song is included on all editions except Team B which includes coupling track from new unit Ten to Umu Chu! formed during the summer major dome concerts. The Team K DVD includes bonus content of Akimoto Sayaka’s graduation events.
Limited editions (Team A,K,B,4) include hand-shake event ticket and band nickname sticker (1 of 16).
Regular editions (Team A,K,B,4) include band nickname sticker (1 of 16) and photo (1 of 48).
Most stores add an additional bonus photo (varies) while supplies last. A special Theater edition is CD-only with a mixed track list and available at theater and other AKB stores.
