ZAQ has announced new single VOICE with tie-up as the opening theme for upcoming anime Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions II (Chu-2 byo demo KOI ga shitai). Its ZAQ’s 5th solo single and continues her connection with the anime having provided opening theme Sparkling Daydream for the first season as well as numerous insert songs. ZAQ most recently released her 4th single Extra Revolution (エキストラレボリューション) on October 23rd 2013 (more details). The song is featured as the opening theme for anime TV series Yu-Sibu. ZAQ’s 3rd single Gekijo Ron released August 21st 2013 (more details) and is featured as the second opening theme for anime High School DxD NEW.
The busy singer, songwriter, and composer ZAQ is most often fully responsible for her songs (lyrics, composition, arrangement) and she also provides songs for artists on the Lantis record label. Nearly all of her songs have a tie-in with anime and game titles.
ZAQ’s debut single Sparkling Daydream (2012.10.24) is featured as the opening theme for anime Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions (Chunibyo demo Koi ga Shitai) In addition to providing the opening theme, ZAQ contributed 4 insert songs for the anime series with all songs are written, arranged, and performed by ZAQ. The association continued as ZAQ provided the opening and ending theme songs (sung by the four main voice actresses under the name of Black Raison d’etre) for movie version of the anime titled “Takanashi Rikkia Kai – Chunibyo demo Koi ga Shitai!”. The movie premiered September 14th 2013.
Anime Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions (Chunibyo demo Koi ga Shitai) is adapted from light novels by Torako. The story follows 1st year high school student Yuta Togashi who in middle school was a chunibyo (lost in a self-made delusional world to cope with adolescence) and vows to begin a normal life in high school. He meets new classmate Rikka Takanashi who is still deeply chunibyo and now lives in the apartment above. Yuta is asked to help Rikka break out of her delusions and learns of her difficult past and pain.
The anime’s second season airs beginning January 2014 on Tokyo MX and other digital channels in Japan. Outside of Japan season one was licensed by Sentai Filmworks and streamed on The Anime Network but no announcement yet for season two.
