Eri Kitamura has officially announced her 7th single (title announced: “掌 -show-” ) with tie-up as the ending theme for upcoming anime Knights of Sidonia. Eri Kitamura is also getting ready to release her 2nd album SHOMEI (証×明) hitting stores March 12th 2014 – late postponement with new release date April 9th 2014 (more details). The album includes her singles Birth, Miracle Gliders, and Destiny plus 9 new songs for 13 total tracks.
Anime Knights of Sidonia is adapted from manga by Tsutomu Nihei and follows the story of Nagate Tanikaze who trains as a mecha pilot called Morito or guardians. Long ago Earth was attacked and devastated by aliens called Gauna forcing humans to flee. Nagate and the rest of the human race travel through space on huge ships and various new planetary settlements while the alien creatures continue their genocidal attacks.
The anime is produced by POLYGON PICTURES celebrating their 30th anniversary and begins airing in Japan April 2014 on MBS and TBS TV. Outside of Japan streaming provider Netflix is exclusively carrying the anime with a subtitled simulcast and dub version(s) coming in summer.
