MICHI announced she’ll provide the opening theme Checkmate!? for upcoming anime – Dagashi Kashi (だがしかし, Cheap Sweets). As with her first single the team from Elements Garden is in charge of music production. Her 2nd single Checkmate!? comes on two editions releasing January 27th 2015.
New anisong singer MICHI (19) debuted with double a-side single Cry for the Truth / Secret Sky on July 22nd 2015. Song Cry for the Truth has tie-up as opening theme for anime Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers (Rokka no Yūsha, 六花の勇者) and song Secret Sky featured as the anime’s 1st ending theme.
Anime Dagashi Kashi (だがしかし) is adapted from manga by Kotoyama and follows Shikada Kokonotsu who’s family owns a small-town but excellent sweets shop. Kokonotsu wants to be a manga artist and while he has great talent with sweets he has no interest in taking over the family store. Shidare Hotaru is a big-city girl who’s family owns a famous sweets company and becomes motivated to try and convince Kokonotsu to take-over his family sweets shop.
The anime airs on TBS TV in Japan starting January 2016. Abe Atsushi voices Shikada Kokonotsu and Ayana Taketatsu (竹達彩奈) voices Shidare Hotaru plus provides ending theme with new single Hey! Calorie Queen (Hey! カロリーQueen),
Single Checkmate!? comes on two editions (details subject to change). Limited includes anime themed sticker and Regular edition has anime themed illustrated jacket cover.
