Kaguya is furious that Hagoromo has broken the law. Hagoromo finds out what Kaguya did in the past and makes up his mind to fight her. Knowing nothing about her, Hagoromo cannot trust her—he wonders if the love and the despair she experienced are the sole cause of her anger. Unable to reach an understanding, mother and sons begin their long, sad battle.

Kogoro is hired to be the bodyguard of popular idol Risa Purple, and Conan and Ran get to enjoy her concert. Just as the concert is about to begin, two masked men attempt to kidnap Risa. During the confusion, they mistake Ran, who is cosplaying as Risa, for the idol, and mistakenly kidnap her instead. Kogoro and Conan go after the kidnappers, but lose track of them during their pursuit. Kogoro borrows the truck of a recycling shop worker who saw the kindappers and Ran and continues his pursuit. Conan discovers the identities of the kidnappers from an objected dropped near the boat the kidnappers abandoned, but...
