While the Principality of Zeon holds a magnificent state funeral for Garma, grizzled veteran Ramba Ral vows to eliminate the White Base and descends upon it with his Zanzibar mobile cruiser. Bright is unable to shake the pursuit of the Zanzibar, and forces the battle-weary Amuro into another fight. A ferocious figure appears and blocks Amuro's path...

Icelina swears to avenge Garma, and joins the pursuit of the White Base. The Gundam and Guncannon leap onto the Gaws to attack them, but Char's Luggun recon plane bombs the White Base and causes it to lose propulsion. In the midst of this, Icelina sees the Gundam. She gathers all her bitterness over Garma's death and tries to ram the Gundam with the Gaw, but...

Char coolly watches Garma romance Icelina Eschonbach, daughter of the former mayor of New Yark. Upon hearing a report that the White Base is hiding within a city, Garma sets out in his Gaw attack carrier. Char volunteers to launch a ground attack with Zakus to help his friend out, but a fearsome conspiracy lies in hiding!

Universal Century 0079. During the war of independence declared by the Principality of Zeon, the Earth Federation Forces have found themselves outgunned. To counter this, the Federation has developed new mobile suits and tested them at Side 7. Zeon Lieutenant Commander Char Aznable senses this and sets out on a reconnaissance mission. One of his overeager soldiers, hoping for personal glory, begins firing. Ensnared in this war, Amuro Ray pilots the Mobile Suit Gundam!

With her last breath, Emma asks Kamille to bring the fighting to an end, and he returns to the battlefield determined to defeat Scirocco and Haman. Scirocco enters Gryps 2 to disable the colony laser before it can destroy the Titan fleet, then teams up with Haman to fight off Char's pursuit, but he is unable to prevent the AEUG from unleashing the colony laser's devastating power. Though the AEUG and Titan fleets have both sustained terrible losses, the final battle isn't over yet...

After changing the course of the asteroid, the Argama rushes back to Gryps 2, where the AEUG, Titan, and Axis fleets are battling for control of the colony laser. As the Argama pilots reach the battlefield they find their old enemies Jerid Messa and Yazan Gable waiting in ambush, and the lives of friends and foes alike are lost in the fierce battle. Emma confronts her former comrade Reccoa, and the outcome of their duel fills Kamille with grief and despair.

Haman has set the asteroid Axis on a collision course with the Gate of Zedan, and the AEUG now launch an all-out attack on the Gate of Zedan to prevent the Titan fleet from escaping the impact. Scirocco, watching the battle from the sidelines, sends Reccoa to rescue Sarah from captivity aboard the Argama. And as the AEUG and Titan fleets clash, the Axis forces take advantage of the confusion to seize control of the Gryps 2 colony laser.

Haman travels to the Gate of Zedan, the asteroid fortress that serves as the Titans' greatest stronghold, to meet with Titan leader Jamitov Hymem. Their discussions soon break down, and Haman attempts to assassinate the Titan leader, then calls in her AEUG allies to cover her escape. Meanwhile, Paptimus Scirocco dispatches Sarah Zabiarov to divert the Argama. Kamille is able to capture her, but Sarah's presence further disrupts an already chaotic battle.

Setsuna and Tieria are confronted by Ali al-Saachez and his new Arche Gundam. A furious Tieria tries to avenge Lockon, but is overwhelmed by the enemy's fighting strength. From Tieria's behavior, Lyle learns that al-Saachez is the man who killed his brother.

Tieria is shocked at the sudden appearance of his lookalike Regene Regetta. He is further disturbed by Regene's revelations about the Innovators. When the Celestial Being members receive information that top A-LAWS members will be attending an upcoming party, Tieria joins Setsuna to infiltrate the party on a reconnaissance mission.

Sumeragi has regained consciousness, and thanks to her tactical plan the Ptolemaios 2 is able to escape the battlefield. However, Allelujah's Gundam has been shot down along with Soma Peries, and his comrades cannot locate him. Allelujah and Peries leave their crashed mobile suits and confront each other in person.

The Katharon base has been devastated by the A-LAWS attack. The words of a dying soldier remind Sumeragi of a traumatic incident from her past, and she passes out. Meanwhile, Kati Mannequin is horrified by the results of Aber Rindt's ruthless mopping-up operation. Soma Peries is also despondent after witnessing the attack. She receives a message from Sergei Smirnov, but although she appreciates his sympathy, she sees no choice but to accept her role as a super soldier and recommit herself to the battlefield.

Having been rescued from near defeat by the Katharon resistance group, the Ptolemaios 2 now takes refuge at a Katharon base in the Arabian desert. Resistance leader Klaus Grad offers to join forces with Celestial Being against their common enemy, but the crew are reluctant to ally themselves with Katharon. While Setsuna takes off in a small craft to return Marina to Azadistan, Saji takes this opportunity to part ways with Celestial Being. Saji is quickly captured by regular Federation forces under the command of Sergei Smirnov, and reveals the location of the Katharon base. When this information is passed on to the A-LAWS, they launch a ruthless mopping-up operation, and the warriors of both sides are horrified by the results.

Setsuna and his comrades have successfully overpowered the A-LAWS and freed Allelujah and Marina from the Federation's detention center. When Marina asks them to return her to Azadistan, they set a course back to the Middle East. But the A-LAWS have anticipated this course of action as well, and they are already deploying a powerful new mobile armor to ambush the Ptolemaios 2 in the Arabian Sea. As the two sides prepare for battle, their members are becoming aware of their connections to the enemy. Allelujah is convinced that Soma Peries, whom he met at the detention center, is his childhood friend Marie. Kati Mannequin, meanwhile, has begun to suspect the true identity of Celestial Being's tactical forecaster. And Billy Katagiri, whose love for his old friend Sumeragi has now turned to bitter hatred, makes a fateful decision.

The A-LAWS prepare a new trap for the reborn Celestial Being at a detention center for anti-government elements. This detention center holds the former Gundam Meister Allelujah Haptism, and the A-LAWS anticipate that Celestial Being will attempt to rescue their former comrade. Among the other prisoners is Marina Ismail, princess of Azadistan, who has her own connection to Celestial Being. In space, the Ptolemaios 2 crew learn of Allelujah's whereabouts, and ask the reluctant Sumeragi to draft a rescue mission plan. As the ship plunges down into the atmosphere to carry out a daring five-minute raid on the detention center, the Gundam Meisters of the reborn Celestial Being prepare for their first battle as a genuine team.

Setsuna begins a final decisive duel. Lyle's intentions, Allelujah's hopes, and Tieria's thoughts flow through the darkness of space. The particles from the 00 Raiser envelop the area around them…

As Tieria enters the enemy ship and learns shocking truths, the Ptolemaios 2 fights a defensive battle against the unrelenting enemy assault. One by one, our heroes fall. Setsuna cries out as if responding to the fading light of their lives.

The Innovator Regene Regetta finally rebels against Ribbons Almark. Meanwhile, Katharon and the Federation Forces have also been drawn into the savage battle between the A-LAWS and Celestial Being. Suddenly, a giant burst of light envelops the battlefield.

The A-LAWS and Federation Forces are gathering a huge fleet to exterminate Celestial Being, and their leaders anticipate a final decisive battle. Aboard the Ptolemaios 2, Setsuna and his comrades gather their resolve for the coming battle. They each give voice to their determination, and crewmember Feldt Grace gives Setsuna a flower which once grew in his Middle Eastern homeland.

The Ptolemaios 2 has received a message containing coordinates for a point at Lagrange 5. The crew are suspicious, but Setsuna suggests they set course for this mysterious location. Ian Vashti agrees, since this will enable them to collect new equipment from Celestial Being's nearby secret factory. Meanwhile, Hiling Care and the other Innovators are vexed by the power of the 00 Raiser, which they now suspect is due to more than just the capabilities of the mobile suit itself.
