Concerned by this resistance, the Federation decides to dispatch the A-LAWS to Suille, and Sergei Smirnov is ordered to observe the situation from the country's borders. Meanwhile, Katharon hopes to join forces with Suille, and begins negotiations with the kingdom.

The anti-Federation resistance group Katharon launches a daring raid on the space colony Proud, in order to free their comrades who are being held there. Among the prisoners at Proud is a young space engineer named Saji Crossroad who has been arrested by the government's overzealous security forces. However, the A-LAWS have anticipated Katharon's rescue mission, and they deploy unmanned killing machines to wipe out the prisoners. In the middle of this chaos, Saji is reunited with his former neighbor Setsuna F Seiei.
